Top 9- AGAIN! - 04/13/10

OK – I went back and watched last weeks show and it was a pretty darn good show. Are you ready for this – I actually listened to Katie’s ‘Let It Be’ – THREE times! It did turn out to be one of the better shows – let’s hope they keep it up . . . .

Ryan – the more I think about it – I think he’s just a robot.

Adam Lambert for a mentor – cool wid me – however, his hair does look like the Heat Myzer's . . . .

Crystal – ‘Saved’ – Cool vest/brown shirt – jeans – she looked good! It all worked for her! That was another outstanding performance by her! LOVED IT! – LOVED IT! AWESOME! – She’s so real. She does not need to be technically enhanced – she just opens her mouth and out comes the talent! Gonna be hard to top that tonight.

Andrew – ‘Hound Dog’ – Black jacket, white v-neck ‘t’ – jeans – it was OK – chain was cool though. That rendition was WAY to slow. You can’t take a song like that and slow it down and expect it to come off good. Agree with Randy – so not good – and yep, Simon got it right to – it was lazy.

Tim – ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ – Blue Henley (have that same shirt in black, white, purple, blue and green) and jeans. It worked for him. The performance was OK – a non blower but in Tim’s standards it was OK. He was better last week. Do I think he’ll go home – probably not.

Lee – ‘Little Less Conversation’ – black jacket, black shirt, and black jea s – all of it was cake. That was freakin awesome. Loved it and damn good. Again, love this guys voice. He’s totally in his zone and agree the vocal was fire. That to me topped Crystal.

Aaron – ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ – Awesome gray jacket, cool blue shirt, and jeans – dude looked better than he has in a while. That like Tim was OK. For Aaron’s standards that was OK. He was kinda like a kid doing a grown up song to me.

Soybean – ‘Suspicious Minds’ – Her hair was like a mini bee hive – However, the outfit she had on was the most normal thing she has ever worn. I actually liked what she had on. The shirt with the cuts in the back was cool and the skirt with the silver buckle buttons was sweet – even liked the shoes. The girl has got some pipes and she did OK on this – she could have done better though. Didn’t totally hate it.

Michael - 'In The Ghetto' - black leather jacket, black jeans, black shirt - didn't work for him. Gee - Another slow song - go figure! Ya'll know what I'm gonna say - send him and the song both to the ghetto! I am tired of this dude - done with him and his attitude and was totally boared with that song. The save was wasted!

Katie – ‘Baby What You Want Me To Do’ – Purple cute shirt, short black bolo jacket, black pants and a whole lotta chains around her waist. Whad-evah. She was much better last week – I got her last week – this week – not so much. She was back to her irritating ways this week.

Casey – ‘Lordy Miss Claudy’ – Back to his regular print shirt and jeans – BORING! And so was the song – He needs to get back in his zone cause he done took the off ramp. Totally agree with Randy – didn’t see or hear anything different – he’s becoming a flat line again – Step it back up son!

Would love to see Michael gone after they did the ridiculous save on him – and Aaron and Katie can head on out as well . . . .

We’ll see

Oh – I am back in Oklahoma City next week so you’ll get a combined report when I get back and watch next weeks show back on the DVR.

  1. I agree - Lee was the best of the night, followed by Crystal. Several others were ok, but not in the same league.

I think Aaron and Andrew should go home.

I would hate to have to pick a song on a week like this with an iconic star like Elvis. If you pick a song no one knows, then people don't get into it as much and don't like it as much - even if you nail it. But if you pick a song everyone knows and you don't slay it, then you are screwed. Tough call.
